“When the Word-Faith movement can’t deliver on its promises, it cruelly blames the victim.” — Hank Hanegraaff
Over the years, I’ve received hundreds of letters from people whose lives have been shattered by Word-Faith teaching. And all too often, their stories are heartbreaking.
That’s why I have to speak out. That’s why I must do everything I can to prevent others from being forced to endure a lifetime of spiritual misery.
You see, Word-Faith theology strikes at the very heart of truths that form the core of our faith — turning God into a man, elevating man to the status of a god, and making a mockery of Christ’s death on the cross for our sins.
But that’s just the beginning. When the Word-Faith movement can’t deliver on its promises, it cruelly blames the victim.
Christians who suffer with disabilities or serious diseases are condemned because Word-Faith teachings claim they must have committed some unknown sin. A couple whose baby is stillborn is told they have somehow offended God. Someone with cancer is pressured not to get treatment because God will heal him — if he has enough faith.
The results are usually tragic.
All too often, those who’ve bought into the Word-Faith promise of prosperity end up disillusioned, in debt, and bankrupt. That’s why I’m committed to helping you and others inoculate yourselves against Word-Faith’s carcinogenic teachings.
I also have some good news: Despite all of the real-life damage caused by the Word-Faith movement, thousands are being rescued from its destructive grasp.
By God’s grace, CRI and the Bible Answer Man have had a significant role in leading many of these dear folks into a true understanding of biblical faith. And with the continued help of friends like you, we can help many more.
Thank you for helping make it possible!
Because truth matters,
President
