On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast (08/26/19), Hank shares a story from a listener who was a Jehovah’s Witness for thirty-five years, but because of the broadcast, she came out of that cult. One of the false teachings of the Jehovah’s Witnesses is that they believe only 144,000 people will make it to heaven, while the rest will be relegated to earth, and all of those who will receive this blessing have already been chosen. To substantiate the notion that heaven’s doors are closed, Jehovah’s Witnesses point to the prophecies of Joseph Rutherford in 1935. Similar to the end-time prophecies of those in the Watchtower Society, there have been evangelicals like Hal Lindsey and Jack Van Impe who have made predictions concerning the return of Christ as well. The sad irony is that just as the Watchtower devotees have fallen for the predictions of Rutherford, many Christians are falling for modern-day prophecy peddlers.

Hank also answers the following questions:

  • How are the sins of modern Jews forgiven since they no longer sacrifice animals?
  • What is your interpretation of the two witnesses mentioned in Revelation chapter 11?
  • What is the proper name of Jesus? A friend of mine says the name Jesus was given to us by the white man.
