Hank’s doctor greeted him with wonderful news, exclaiming, “I’ve never seen such a great PET scan report!” Hank has 14 days yet to complete his 100 days of semi-isolation following his allogeneic stem cell transplant, as his T-cells mature in the process of restoring his immune system.
Hank emphasizes that this is a journey not just through cancer but life. God is not interested in healing us physically; He’s interested in healing the whole of us — body, soul, and spirt.
Remarkably, Hank says, “I am so glad that on April 15, 2017, I was diagnosed with cancer. I am truly happy that happened because through this process God has performed a spiritual surgery in my life. And that spiritual surgery is not just for me; it is for all of those that He will allow me to minister to in the future….The issue is not so much a matter of whether we will live or die, but how we live our life until we die.”
For Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die” (John 11:23–26).
Hank says, “Our life is a journey toward death—all of us are terminal. So how do we live? Have our lives manifested the Spirit of God? Have our lives been a testimony to His goodness, His grace, and His glory?”
“…If we live well, we will die well. May God be glorified in our lives.”
