Dear Friend,
More than a century ago, Abraham Kuyper penned the following words:
When principles that run against your deepest convictions begin to win the day, then battle is your calling, and peace has become sin; you must, at the price of dearest peace, lay your convictions bare before friend and enemy, with all the fire of your faith.
Mr. Kuyper’s words best sum up my passion for writing The Osteenification of American Christianity. Exposing such darkness to light is not a pleasurable experience, but it is, however, a necessary one.
So as I “lay my convictions bare” in this newsletter, it’s my prayer you’ll be equipped to stand for the Truth in the face of Joel Osteen’s insidious false teachings. And as you do, it’s my hope that your intimacy with your Creator will deepen!
This is, of course, the goal of any endeavor we undertake here at the Christian Research Institute: to help you deepen your love for and dependence on the One whose Truth is our foundation.
So please be encouraged as you read this edition of Equip. And as always, thank you for investing in this outreach that is having such a transforming effect on our culture.
