This revised and updated edition of The Complete Bible Answer Book addresses some of the most significant questions I’ve been asked in over three decades of hosting the Bible Answer Man broadcast (I invite you to access additional answers online at www.equip.org).
Furthermore, I would urge you to become familiar with the Apostolic and Holy Fathers of the church. Those like Polycarp of Smyrna and Ignatius of Antioch who surrendered their lives for the faith “once for all entrusted to the saints” (Jude 3). Holy Fathers of the church who faithfully transmitted the teachings of the apostles. Expositors. Witnesses to life and truth. Fathers without whom we would not so much as have our treasured Bibles.
Finally, it is crucial that you get into the Word of God and get the Word of God into you. If you fail to eat well-balanced meals on a regular basis, you eventually will suffer the physical consequences. Likewise, if you do not regularly feed on the Word of God, you will suffer spiritual consequences. Jesus said, “Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4). Great physical meals are one thing; great spiritual meals are quite another. Begin your journey forward by reading the entry “What are the main ingredients for spiritually nourishing M-E-A-L-S?”
Whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.
Philippians 4:8 NKJV
