On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast (08/03/21), Hank continues teaching through the Gospel of Matthew, picking back up with the poignant words from Jesus, “it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city” (Matthew 10:15 NKJV). To reject the disciples is to reject Jesus, for the disciples are doing the very works that Jesus did. Thus, those who reject them are rejecting the very work of God. Our Lord is perfectly just, and each person who spurns the grace that could be theirs will suffer exactly what they deserve. Every sin is an act of rebellion against a holy God, but some sins carry far more serious consequences than others and thus receive a greater punishment in this life, as well as in the next. Such would be the case for the cities and towns that rejected the message of the disciples.
