On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast (05/28/19), Hank discusses abortion, noting that all this talk about abortion misses the reality that a conceptus has full personhood from the moment of conception. Carl Sagan wrote about this in The Dragons of Eden, where he said that determining when a fetus becomes human “would play a major role in achieving an acceptable compromise in the abortion debate.” As Sagan calculated it, this transition to a human would fall between the first and second trimesters. The notion, says Hank, that a human being does not emerge during pregnancy until after the end of the first trimester is merely the figment of a fertile imagination. While an emerging embryo may not have a fully developed personality, it does have full personhood from the moment of conception.
Hank also answers the following questions:
- The Bible says that there will be no more sea on the new earth, can you elaborate on that? Where will the Lake of Fire be?
- Was Jesus admonishing Peter or agreeing with him in Luke 22:38 when Jesus exclaims, “That’s enough!”?
- I was curious about Casey Treat and Christian Faith Center; is that a good church to attend?
