On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast (05/11/20), Hank goes over one of the great apologists of the Early Church—Irenaeus of Lyon—who is featured in the book When the Church Was Young by Marcellino D’Ambrosio. Irenaeus was greatly influenced by Polycarp, who himself was the disciple of John the Theologian. He was a prodigious author; among his credits is a great book known as Against Heresies, a book in which he clinically unmasks the dark underbelly of Gnostic heresy. The story that is told of how Irenaeus countered heretics is gripping, powerful, and just one of the many stories you’ll read about in When the Church Was Young.

Hank also answers the following question:

  • Is it possible that the 144,000 are all the tribes of Israel, and that the great multitude are the God-fearing gentiles?
