On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast (03/16/20), Hank discusses the issue of origins, believing that it is not just an apologetic issue, it is the apologetic issue. Hank brings up a story he read in USA Today titled, “Early Bird: Tiny, Ancient ‘Bird Dinosaur’ Discovered” by Doyle Rice. But much like Archaeopteryx, it is not a likely candidate for the missing link between dinosaurs and birds. Birds and alleged ancestral dinosaurs happened to thrive during the same period. Both appear suddenly in the fossil record, with masterfully engineered wings and feathers common in birds today. To think that either of these is a missing link between reptiles and birds, you’d have to convince yourself that over the course of millions of years scales became increasingly like feathers until one day the perfect feather emerged and that the delicate darting flitter of a hummingbird-like dinosaur is a miraculous function of unguided, purposeless processes.
Hank also answers the following questions:
- Are the actions of Robin Hood biblical?
- I wanted to pat you on the back for talking about evolution.
