On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast (12/20/19), Hank discusses the uniqueness, logical coherence, and glorious significance of the Incarnation. The Christian Creed, affirmed by the ancient Council of Nicea, asserts that “for us and for our salvation,” Christ “came down from heaven and was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and became man.” Or, as the apostle John avowed, Jesus “became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” Christ’s kenosis is our theosis. His poverty our riches. Also, Hank addresses the current crisis within Methodism, likely to culminate in a split over whether the church should continue to ban same-sex marriage and continue to prevent openly LGBT people from serving as clergy. Christians must stand firm on essential Christian doctrine and practice—biblical, conjugal marriage is an essential building block of human civilization.
