On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast, Hank highlights the cover article of the brand new edition of the Christian Research Journal, “Seduced? The Crisis of Word and the Fragmentation of Civilization” by D.K. Matthews. Christians are caught today in the crosshairs of a virulent linguistic pandemic. It’s a crisis of word—a crisis that has flowered into semantic terrorism. Post-truth critics—including candidates for the highest office in the land—routinely castigate those who stand in opposition to their redefinition of words. They are labeled intolerant, hateful, ignorant, xenophobic, and an imminent and existential threat to the noble quest for a progressive future. As Hank often says, we can curse the darkness, or we can build a lighthouse in the midst of the gathering storm. Articles like “Seduced?” along with other timely articles in this issue of the Christian Research Journal do just that.

Hank also answers the following questions:

  • In Genesis 1:26 it says God created man on the sixth day, but Genesis 2:7 says that God created man after resting on the seventh day. Can you help me understand this?
  • I’m having a hard time understanding Calvinism vs. Arminianism. I’m struggling with knowing that Christ possibly died on the cross for the elect and not for everyone. Can you help me?
