The Light of the World Church (TLOW), with over 15,000 temples in 58 countries, claims to be the restoration of the early church of Christ. Although official doctrinal documents are rare, we can trace their central doctrines from its hymnology and other sources. When we analyze three critical doctrines held by TLOW, comparing them to early Christian orthodoxy and early heresies, TLOW aligns more with ancient heresies condemned by the early church. However, rather than being discouraged by the apparent success of TLOW, we should be encouraged to train ourselves so that we may be ready to present a rational defense of the gospel with gentleness and respect.
