Hank Hanegraaff, the host of the Bible Answer Man broadcast answers these questions: Does the book of Genesis really commit us to believe in a 6000-year-old universe? What does the book of nature tell us respecting the issue of age? Over the years Ken Ham and Answers in Genesis have decried the notion that Hank does not hold to the young-earth creationist perspective. A perspective that views the earth and universe as being in the neighborhood of six thousand years old. “Hanegraaff’s problem,” says Ham, “is his unwillingness to understand Genesis in its most natural form—as a historical narrative.” This, however, is far from true. Hank firmly believes that Genesis is a historical narrative.
