Hank Hanegraaff walks you through the meaning and manner of praying the prayer our Lord taught His disciples to pray. In one of the most epic scenes in all of biblical history, the disciples asked God incarnate to “teach us now to pray.” And that is precisely what Jesus did. He taught his disciples a prayer that is deftly divided into two parts. The first is focused on God’s glory. The second is focused on our requests. While the Lord’s prayer must never be regarded as a prayer mantra, it is a prayer manner beginning with the glorious privilege of addressing the Creator of the universe as “Father.”
And remember to pass on our dear brother Elijah’s three-point exhortation in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic:
1) Pray the prayer three times a day. In praying the Lord’s prayer, you will be following in the footsteps of the early Christian Church.
2) For 21 days.
3) Pray for the unity of the one body of Christ in accord with the Lord’s High Priestly Prayer.
