Hank Hanegraaff, the host of the Bible Answer Man broadcast, talks with Michael who tells Hank that his wife left him and now he is dating a woman who is a widow. He wants to know if he is committing adultery. Hank replies that if your spouse leaves you and closes the door to reconciliation, that the Christian is not bound in that circumstances. In fact, that’s what the Apostle Paul says in 1 Cor. 7 where he points out that if an unbelieving spouse leaves the other party is not bound. However, if the unbeliever is willing to stay in the relationship, the other party must not get a divorce.
